PREPARE FOR THE MARKET

What to Expect:

Your child will run their own small business for the day, from greeting customers to handling sales.
We encourage independence while parents stay nearby for support if needed.

Who Can Participate

• Ages 5–17
• Must create or run their own business/product
• Must be present at their booth the entire event
• Must be able to explain their product in their own words

No prior business experience needed — just effort and ownership.

How to Prepare

1. Create a Product or Service

Kids should bring something they made or designed themselves.

Ideas:
• Crafts or handmade items
• Art or jewelry
• Baked goods or treats
• Games or activity booths
• Stickers, slime, cards, or prints
• Simple services (face painting, bracelet making, etc.)

2. Practice Their Pitch

Encourage your child to explain:

• What they are selling

• How they made it

• Why they chose it

• The price

Confidence grows with practice!

3. Booth Setup Guidelines

Each young entrepreneur will have a 10x10 booth space to create their shop for the day.

To keep things fair and organized:

• Only one business per booth is allowed

• The booth should represent your child’s brand and creativity!

Bring:
• Table + chairs
• Tablecloth
• Display signs
• Price list
• Decorations that represent their brand

Make it fun and personal!

Outdoor Markets:

f the market is held outdoors:

• You must bring your own canopy/tent for shade and safety
• Families are responsible for their own setup and breakdown
• Please plan ahead and arrive on time so yo
ur child is ready when the market opens

During the Market:

We ask that vendors stay open and present for the entire market time so all children have the same opportunity to participate and customers can enjoy every booth.

No early breakdowns, please!
(Unless there is an emergency — we understand life happens.)

Clean Up:

Each family is responsible for cleaning their booth area before leaving.

This helps us keep the venue happy and allows us to continue hosting future markets for the kids 💛

If a space is left messy, we may not be able to invite that vendor back next time — but we know our families take pride in their spaces!

4. Payments

Bring a mix of:
• Cash (small bills & coins)
• Optional: Venmo / CashApp (parent supervised)

Your child should handle transactions with guidance if needed.

5. Parent Role

Parents are helpers — not sellers.

Children should:
• Talk to customers
• Make the sales
• Handle the money

Parents may assist only when necessary.

Final Tip

This isn’t about perfection — it’s about learning, trying, and growing confidence.

We celebrate effort just as much as success 💛
